The research of the Human Anatomy group is based on the in vitro investigation of the molecular mechanisms involved in growth, differentiation, apoptosis, oxidative stress, inflammation and biological response to physical, chemical and biological stimuli in different experimental conditions.
In particular, the research is focused on
a) biological characterization and biocompatibility of innovative materials designed for tissue regeneration and their potential clinical applications
b) Newly synthesized compounds and their effects on proliferation and osteogenic differentiation
c) Cellular response to antioxidant/neuroprotective compounds, both natural and synthetic, in various in vitro systems
d) Antitumoral potential of novel drugs in various cellular models
